Universal Jesus Speaks - Morals & Values -
"A prophet is not without honor, save in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house." Mk 6:4
"Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while." For there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure, even so much as to eat. Mk 6:31
"Hearken unto Me every one of you, and understand: There is nothing from outside a man that, entering into him, can defile him; but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man. Do ye not perceive that whatsoever thing from outside entereth into a man, it cannot defile him, because it entereth not into his heart, but into the belly and goeth out into the drain, thereby purging all meats?" "That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man. For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: all these evil things come from within and defile the man." Mk 7:14-15, 18-19, 20-23
"If any man desire to be first, the same shall be last of all and servant of all." Mk 9:35
"Suffer the little children to come unto Me, and forbid them not, for of such is the Kingdom of God. Verily I say unto you, whosoever shall not receive the Kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein." Mk 10:14-15
And when He had gone forth onto the road, there came one running, and knelt before Him and asked Him, "Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?" And Jesus said unto him, "Why callest thou Me good? There is none good but One, that is, God. Thou knowest the commandments: `Do not commit adultery, do not kill, do not steal, do not bear false witness, defraud not, honor thy father and mother.'" And he answered and said unto Him, "Master, all these have I observed from my youth." Then Jesus, beholding him, loved him and said unto him, "One thing thou lackest: Go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in Heaven; and come, take up the cross, and follow Me." And he was sad at that saying and went away grieved, for he had great possessions. And Jesus looked round about and said unto His disciples, "How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the Kingdom of God!" And the disciples were astonished at His words, but Jesus answered again and said unto them, "Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the Kingdom of God! It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the Kingdom of God." And they were astonished beyond measure, saying among themselves, "Who then can be saved?" And Jesus, looking upon them, said, "With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible." Mk 10:17-27
"Ye know that they that are accounted to rule over the Gentiles exercise lordship over them, and their great ones exercise authority upon them. But so shall it not be among you: but whosoever will be great among you shall be your minister, and whosoever of you would be the chiefest shall be servant of all. For even the Son of Man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister and to give His life as a ransom for many." Mk 10:42-45
"A certain man planted a vineyard, and set a hedge about it, and dug a place for the wine vat, and built a watchtower; and he leased it out to husbandmen and went into a far country. And at the harvest season he sent to the husbandmen a servant, that he might receive from the husbandmen of the fruit of the vineyard. And they caught him, and beat him, and sent him away empty. And again he sent unto them another servant, and at him they cast stones, and wounded him in the head, and sent him away shamefully handled. And again he sent another, and him they killed, and many others, beating some and killing some. Having yet therefore one son, his well-beloved, he sent him also last unto them, saying, `They will reverence my son.' But those husbandmen said among themselves, `This is the heir. Come, let us kill him, and the inheritance shall be ours.' And they took him and killed him, and cast him out of the vineyard. What therefore shall the lord of the vineyard do? He will come and destroy the husbandmen, and will give the vineyard unto others. Mk 12:1-9
"Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's." Mk 12:17
"The first of all the commandments is: `Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God is one Lord. And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength;' this is the first commandment. And the second is like, namely this: `Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.' There is no other commandment greater than these." Mk 12:29-31
